Previous research undertaken at PBS

  • Biosphere Expeditions - A non-profit company that organises conservation expeditions throughout the world.  Visited in 2003 to carry out investigations into geophagy at the mammal colpa, to study the impact of boat traffic on macaw behaviour and to create species lists for medium to large bodied mammals for the area.  Biosphere will be returning in 2005, to join them visit www.biosphere-expeditions.org or to read the 2002 and 2003 reports visit our Reports page.

  • Fauna Forever - A research group looking at the impacts of tourism on mammals, birds and herptofauna in Tambopata and Las Piedras.

  • Project Piedras - A group of international students from Edinburgh University and from various universities in Peru carried out an expedition to investigate the impact of logging on mammal populations in the River Las Piedras.  Find out more about the project at www.savemonkeys.org
